Two types of 850nm laser diodes are available, 850nm VCSEL chip laser diode or 850nm FP laser diode. VCSEL LDs are low cost, with low driving current threshold and high reliability, while FP LDs have much higher output power (up to 10mW). (All output power refers to power from the fiber pigtail of 9/125 micron fiber.)
