This optical fiber visual fault finder (VFF) has a 650nm laser source with two levels of output power: 0.5mW or 1mW. This instrument is used on standard single mode or multimode optical fibers.

This instrument is designed to locate the sharp bends or breaks in patchcords or bare fibers, especially in fiber identification among ribbon or bunch optic fiber pigtails during installation, where identifying fiber cable from end to end may be difficult or time-consuming.

With working distance up to 10km, this product is an excellent compliment to OTDR equipment.
