This optical power monitor is an integrated device that combines a polarization maintaining tap coupler and a pigtailed photodetector together. It provides an easy way to monitor the power in optical connection where polarization maintaining is required. It can be connected or spliced into the fiber link where the optical power or the signal is to be measured.

Features:

  • Integrated, low loss device
  • 1% or 5% PM tap coupler
  • Compact design

Applications:

  • Power monitoring in fiber communication systems
  • Gain monitoring in optical amplifiers

Specifications:

Note: Optical path and connector key are aligned to slow axis. With one pair of connectors added on, the IL is 0.3dB higher, RL 5dB lower and ER 4dB lower.

Dimension

Dia5.5*Length30 (mm)

Ordering Information:

TPM-PM-a-b-c-d
a: Center Wavelength; a=1550 for 1550nm.
b: Tapping Ratio of the Power Monitor; b=1 for 1% tapping; b=5 for 5%.
c: Fiber Pigtail Type; c=0 for 250 micron bare fiber; c=1 for 900 micron loose tube; etc.
d: Connector Type, d=FA for FC/APC, d=SU for SC/UPC, d=N for no connectors, etc.

Example: TPM-PM-1550-5-1-FU
