Multimode fiber power combiner is designed for high power fiber laser applications. Using this device, up to seven input multimode fibers are combined together into one single output fiber. The optical power from multiple pump lasers can be added up to achieve high pump power. This power combiner is an essential part in construct high power fiber lasers.
The configuration of multimode pump power combiner includes:
- (1+1)x1, where one pump power input and one signal input are combined into one common output.
- (2+1)x1, where two pump power inputs and one signal input are combined into one common output.
- (N+1)x1, where N pump power inputs and one signal input are combined into one common output.
- Nx1, where N pump power inputs are combined into one common output.
