1x3 and 1x4 multimode optical couplers are manufactured using multimode optical fibers with 50/125 microns or 62.5/125 microns core diameters. The special fabrication technique ensures a very compact package size, the same size with other 1x2 or 2x2 optical couplers.
These multimode couplers have low excess losses. They are low-cost and suit the applications in multimode optical local area networks or FTTx systems.
