    Reviews

This semiconductor optical amplifier (model: SOA-CS) is a compact-size, electrically pumped, cost effective and high performance optical amplifying device. Within a standard 14-pin butterfly package, SOA-CS provides high optical gain over a wide wavelength range in C band (60nm). It offers high optical gain, low noise figure and high saturation optical power. It has an InP buried heterostructure chip, and TEC and thermistor to ensure stable operation.

This SOA can be used as in-line amplifiers for DWDM or CWDM systems, or as electro-optical switching device (nanosecond switching speed), or for amplifications in 10G or 40Gbps high bit rate systems.

Customized package, including chip arrays, are available.

Note: this product has longer lead time than the standard lead time. Please inquire before you place the order.

Features:

  • Center wavelength 1550nm
  • Wide optical bandwidth (60nm)
  • High saturation output power (>8dBm)
  • Low noise figure (7dB)
  • Low polarization sensitivity (~1dB)
  • TEC and Thermistor

Applications:

  • Inline amplification for DWDM or CWDM
  • Fast E-O switching (nanosecond)
  • Optical amplification in 10G or 40G systems
